Cellulite: medical term is Lipedema- accumulation of fat in the subcutaneous tissues
Pillars of health:
Every 2-7 years you are a new walking miraculous bag of cells!
Wrapped in Lifestyle choices-- swapping out brands of skincare and cleaning products for safe alternatives (organic matters), less exposure to endocrine disruptors.
What are endocrine disruptors?
Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that may interfere with the body’s endocrine system and produce adverse development, reproductive, neurological, and immune effects in both humans and wildlife. Substances, both natural and man-made are thought to cause, including pharmaceuticals, dioxin and dioxin-like compounds (highly toxic) and pesticides (DDT) and plasticizers. Endocrine disruptors may be found in many every day products – plastic bottles, metal food cans, detergent, food, COSMETICS.
What is the endocrine system?
Your endocrine system includes all the glands in your body that make hormones. These chemical messengers help manage stress. If your endocrine system is unhealthy you might gain weight easily, have weak bones, or lack of energy because too much sugar stays in your blood instead of moving into your cells for energy.
Our skin is the largest organ, if you can't eat it, you should not be applying it. The FDA does not regulate skin care in the same manner it regulated ingested products…. As savvy consumers, we need to know this.
Nourish- Prominent skin nutrients include Vitamin A, C, and collagen (complete amino acid profile- “building blocks” for new cells) think bright colored vegetables and fruits- especially red’s oranges and yellows- for high vitamin C and beta-carotene content- eating a rainbow a day.
Nourishing the skin, use products that directly are formulated to nourish your skin…. High quality organic ingredients truly matter. Conventional skincare can accelerate aging of skin, and it’s a cycle that they don't have motivation to break… until the consumer begins to demand it.
Release- traditionally in European society, cellulite has been associated with a modern detox burden, and the need to release toxins. Regular elimination of our body’s organs makes a huge difference. Colonics are the quickest way to encourage better releasing and to heal the colon to be more efficient; also by washing the colon you are quickly releasing lymph toxins. Home enemas are useful as well, on average one colon hydrotherapy has about the same washing effectiveness as 25-30 home enemas.
Physical structure- cellulite has compromised microcirculation in the epithelial layers (skin layering). Getting movement in through your whole body will help. Consider a sauna, we want to release the toxins, and encourage circulation to bring new nutrients. The use of a dry brush and/or natural fiber loofah is a must! Brush towards heart.
Environment- the activity of your cells that lay down new collagen (fibroblasts) respond to your hormonal environment. Encouraging optimized Growth Hormone makes a huge difference! (HIIT, IF, Growth hormone peptides – all safe and super effective)
Mindset- our minds do not know the difference between imagination and real. And we see more of what we are looking for… consider ‘wow, my body is amazing and needs help with this.’ Versus ‘this looks so terrible’
To summarize, CELLULITE is a circulation and a toxicity issue. When your fat stores are toxic, they are smart, and move toxins as far away from your heart and organs as possible. That place is to the subcutaneous tissues right beneath the skin. If this resonates with you, please connect with a Zelo coach and allow us to show you a viable solution.
